AI and Machine Learning Policy

👋 Hey there,

We know that AI — or more accurately, large language models — is a hot topic right now, and we’d like to take a moment to share our approach.

We believe AI is a powerful tool that can support better decision-making and improve outcomes. At the same time, we are committed to using AI responsibly and ethically.

All AI features are opt-in, and we're committed to using them in a way that respects your privacy and protects your data.

Importantly, neither Dapple nor our listed AI providers use your data to train or fine-tune AI models when you use Dapple's AI features.

This policy outlines what you can expect from us, including how data is used, your rights, and your responsibilities. If you have any questions, please contact us at hello@dapplehq.com.

Thank you for choosing Dapple!

— The Dapple Team

Terms for AI Features

Updated 1/4/2026

These AI Feature Terms ("Terms") are an addition to and governed by the Dapple Customer Terms of Service or your Master Services Agreement with Dapple (the "Agreement"). These Terms apply specifically to any artificial intelligence tools and functionality ("AI Tools") that Dapple offers and that you choose to use. Any undefined terms in these Terms have the same meaning as in the Agreement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the AI Tools, you agree to follow and be bound by these Terms and the Agreement. If you disagree with these Terms, please refrain from using the AI Tools.

2. Third-Party AI Services

The AI Tools utilise artificial intelligence services from third-party providers ("Third-Party AI Services"). Currently, Dapple uses the following Third-Party AI Services:

a. Anthropic (Claude) — Subject to Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum. Anthropic is used to power Dapple's AI analysis, review assistance, and data insights features, including integrations accessed via Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP). Anthropic processes data in the United States. For UK and EEA customers, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into Anthropic's DPA.

b. OpenAI — Subject to OpenAI's terms of service.

c. AWS (Amazon Bedrock) — Subject to Amazon Bedrock's terms of service.

d. Google Gemini — Subject to Google's terms of service.

e. Llama (Meta) — Subject to Meta's terms of service.

By using the AI Tools, you agree that your use is subject to the applicable Third-Party AI Services terms listed above.

A description of specific functionalities, data usage, and AI models used by the AI Tools is available in Dapple's AI Model Cards, accessible in the documentation.

3. Rights Granted to Dapple

a. Use of Your Data: You grant Dapple a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, process, and transmit your data solely to facilitate your use of the AI Tools and as otherwise outlined in these Terms and the Agreement.

b. No Training on Your Data: Neither Dapple nor any Third-Party AI Service listed in these Terms will use your data to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve machine learning or AI models. In particular, data processed via Anthropic's commercial API is explicitly excluded from Anthropic's model training programmes under Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service.

c. Feedback: If you provide Dapple with feedback or suggestions about the AI Tools, you give Dapple permission to use such feedback for any purpose, without attribution or payment to you.

4. Reservation of Rights

You acknowledge that, except for your right to use the AI Tools according to these Terms, Dapple and the Third-Party AI Services retain all rights to the AI Tools.

5. Your Data and Privacy

a. Protection of Your Data: Using the AI Tools may require the transmission of certain data to Third-Party AI Services. The privacy and security of data submitted via these services will be protected according to their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements, and by Dapple as outlined in the Agreement. Your data will only be processed by Third-Party AI Services to fulfil your AI Tool requests. Processing follows data minimisation principles; only data necessary for each specific AI request will be transmitted. Your data will not be used for any other purpose and will not be retained by Third-Party AI Services beyond the processing session, subject to their standard short-term operational log retention periods (for example, Anthropic retains API logs for up to 7 days before permanent deletion).

b. Data Submitted by Your Users: Where you use the AI Tools to process data relating to third parties (such as individuals who have submitted applications or entries through your Dapple account), you represent and warrant that you have a valid lawful basis under applicable data protection law for that processing, and that your own privacy notices adequately disclose the use of AI-powered tools for processing such data.

c. Subprocessors: For GDPR and UK GDPR Article 28 compliance (where applicable), you authorise Dapple to engage the identified Third-Party AI Services as subprocessors of your data according to these Terms and any data processing agreement in place with you. A current list of AI subprocessors is maintained in Dapple's documentation.

d. International Transfers: Some Third-Party AI Services process data outside the UK and EEA. Where this applies, Dapple ensures appropriate transfer mechanisms are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses, in accordance with applicable data protection law.

6. Disclaimers

a. No Responsibility for Outputs: Dapple is not responsible for outputs generated, interpreted, or used through the AI Tools, nor for their accuracy, usefulness, safety, or any intellectual property considerations related to such outputs. You should independently verify all outputs before relying on them.

b. As-is Basis: The AI Tools are provided "as is." Neither Dapple nor any Third-Party AI Service makes any representation or warranty regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, validity, or availability of information accessed through or outputs generated by the AI Tools.

7. Your Responsibilities

a. Responsibility for Inputs: You are solely responsible for all data you input into the AI Tools and the outputs received. You must ensure all such data complies with applicable laws, including data protection law, and does not infringe on any third-party rights.

b. Responsibility for Output Use: You are solely responsible for how you use outputs generated by the AI Tools. You must verify the appropriateness and accuracy of such outputs for your intended purposes.

c. Restrictions: You must not use the AI Tools to generate content that is illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise harmful to third parties.

8. Termination

Dapple reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the AI Tools at any time, without notice, for conduct that Dapple reasonably believes violates these Terms or the Agreement, or that harms other users of the Service, Dapple, or third parties.

9. Amendments

Dapple may amend these Terms periodically. Where changes are material, Dapple will provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the AI Tools after any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
