A submission in Dapple is defined as a single completed form and payment — not the number of individual entries within it. For example, if you're running an award: • First entry costs £50 • Additional entries cost £25 each If a submitter purchases 3 entries in one go, they would pay a total of £100 (£50 + £25 + £25) in a single transaction. In this case, Dapple counts this as 1 submission, not 3. The average submission fee would therefore be £100. In short: 1 submission = 1 completed form + 1 payment (regardless of how many entries are included).
Yes. Stripe's processing fees are separate from Dapple's fee. When an applicant pays, the payment is processed through your own connected Stripe account. Dapple charges a transaction fee of 2% + £0.20 (GBP), 2% + $0.25 (USD) or 2% + €0.20 (EUR). This covers our own Stripe platform and payment gateway costs and helps us keep our subscription prices low. Stripe also charges its standard processing fees, which are paid by your organisation. For standard domestic cards these are typically around 1.5% + 20p in the UK and 2.9% + 30¢ in the US, with higher rates for international cards and currency conversion. The calculator above includes an estimate of Stripe's fees so you can see your likely take-home, but these are estimates only. Your exact rates are shown in your Stripe dashboard.
VAT is applied to Dapple's software fees for UK customers, in line with standard regulations and is exclusive of any prices shown above. No VAT (or local taxes) is charged by Dapple on submission fees. These payments go directly to you via your connected Stripe account. You are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes on the revenue you earn from submission fees, based on your local tax requirements. In short: VAT applies to Dapple's fees (for UK customers), not to your submission revenue — that's yours to manage for tax purposes.
Yes. If you're on a monthly plan, you can pause your subscription at any time. We've designed things this way because many organisations run opportunities on an annual, bi-annual, or ad-hoc basis and don't need an active subscription year-round. To pause your subscription, simply downgrade your account to the free plan within the platform. Your data will remain safely stored, so everything will be exactly where you left it when you're ready to reactivate.
